The finance ministry has extended the validity of anti-dumping duty on flexible slabstock polyol by one year, which is imported from the US and Japan. Flexible slabstock polyol is a polyether and on reaction with catalysts and additives yields polyurethane foams used in pillows, bolsters, mattresses, transport seating, upholstery and packaging.
The revenue department has said that the anti-dumping duty will now be valid until February 4, 2014 from the earlier lapse on February 5, 2013. The department had also recommended extension of anti-dumping duty by one more year.
Meanwhile, Manali Petrochemicals, which is the sole producer of Flexible Slabstock Polyol, had filed the petition seeking a review on imports of this product from the US and Japan.
