Coal India’s production rises by 10.3% to 66.4 MT in December

Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 10.3% to 66.4 million tonnes (MT) in December 2022 as against 60.2 MT in December 2021. The company’s production in the April- December 2022 period increased 15.8 per cent to 479.0 MT, compared with 413.6 MT in the year-ago period.  

The company's offtake increased by 3.6% to 62.7 MT in December, 2022, over 60.6 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- December 2022 period increased by 5.4% to 507.8 MT over 481.6 MT in the year-ago period.   

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
