Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and West Bengal Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee today launched a new campaign ‘Didir Suraksha Kavach’ to reach out to the people, ahead of the Panchayat polls due in April this year.

The campaign was launched in the presence of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and state president Subrata Bakshi. The party's campaign will begin on January 10 and will continue with it for 60 days. Just like 'Duare Sarkar' (government at doorstep), an outreach programme of the state government, the objective of the new campaign is to connect with the people through the party's programme.

Mamata Banerjee said that around 3.5 lakh party workers will reach out to 10 crore people of the state. It is being done so that no one is left out. Banerjee also outlined her commitment to her party's ideology. ‘Our ideology is very clear. We want united India and unity in diversity. Federal structure must be strengthened,’ she said. TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said that the party workers will reach out to the people across the state and ensure that everyone can avail of the welfare schemes of the state government.
