Bharat Forge surges despite reporting 54% fall in Q3 net profit

Bharat Forge is currently trading at Rs 221.65, up by 2.60 points or 1.19% from its previous closing of Rs 219.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 215.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 223.50 and Rs 208.15 respectively. So far 138590 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 347.00 on 08-May-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 216.80 on 05-Feb-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 231.00 and Rs 216.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 5151.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.05% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.36% and 29.58% respectively.

Bharat Forge has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2012.

The company has reported 53.92% fall in its net profit at Rs 47.52 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 103.13 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has decreased by 27.34% at Rs 692.03 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 952.50 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

Bharat Forge engages in manufacturing of close die and open die forging, crankshafts, front axle beams, steering knuckle, connecting rods, rocker arm and many more components.
