Asian markets end mostly lower on Tuesday

10 Jan 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly lower on Tuesday amidst lingering fears over upcoming recession and US interest rate hikes. Market sentiments weakened further ahead of a speech by the US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell after hawkish remarks from two Fed officials drove rate hike expectations higher. Hong Kong shares dropped with cautious ahead of key US inflation data due this week. However, Japanese shares gained ahead of a policy meeting by the Bank of Japan early next week.
