Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today dismissed ‘irresponsible and irrational’ the election promise made by opposition Congress to provide 200 units of free power to all households every month if voted to power in the state. He stated that it shows the level of desperation of the Congress and one can expect more such announcements.
Basavaraj Bommai said the announcement showed ‘how low they are in the electoral race’. Criticising that the Congress has no plans to actually implement its assurance, Bommai said, ‘They want to win polls based on false assurances. They could not properly give power for six hours when they were in power, and how can they give it free’, he asked. As a part of election campaign named ‘Praja Dhvani’ ahead Assembly polls, the congress has made the announcement on free electricity for the residents of the Karnataka.
