ONGC rises as its JV signs MoU with Assam Power Distribution Company

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 146.90, up by 0.85 points or 0.58% from its previous closing of Rs. 146.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 146.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 147.50 and Rs. 145.95 respectively. So far 112543 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 194.60 on 08-Mar-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 119.80 on 06-Jul-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 150.30 and Rs. 145.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 184930.10 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.89%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 37.79% and 3.32% respectively.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) joint venture (JV) company -- ONGC Tripura Power Corporation (OTPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL) to develop battery energy storage system project of capacity up to 250 Megawatt (MW) / 500 megawatt-hour (MWh) in phased manner in Assam. An investment of Rs 2,000 crore will be made in the state for developing the project.

OTPC is a joint venture of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), gas utility GAIL (India), Government of Tripura and India Infrastructure Fund-II.

ONGC is India’s largest government-run corporation and produces about 70% of India’s crude oil and natural gas. The corporation is the biggest public sector commercial organization in India.
