Asian markets end mostly higher on Monday

16 Jan 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly higher on Monday tracking Wall Street gains last week as US interest rate and recession worries eased. Chinese shares rose after Chinese central bank PBoC injected more liquidity into the banking system, while kept its key policy rates unchanged. However, Japanese shares extended losses ahead of the Bank of Japan's policy meeting this week, while speculation over another hawkish move by the BoJ pushed the yen to a seven-month high against the US dollar.
