Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Wednesday

Most of the Asian markets traded lower in early deals on Wednesday, pressured by the weak trend in global indices amid intensified global economic slowdown fears and peaking interest rates. Hang Seng shrunk extending previous sessional losses followed by woes over China’s economic rebound. While, Japan’s Nikkei advanced as participants keenly awaited for the Bank of Japan ‘s policy decision, where BOJ is widely expected to continue with its ultra- dovish stance. Besides, Taiwan market was shut for the Lunar New Year holiday. 

Hang Seng down by 28.60 points or 0.13% to 21,549.04, KOSPI dipped by 19.95 points or 0.84% to 2,359.44, Jakarta Composite narrowed by 33.38 points or 0.49% to 6,733.96, Shanghai shrunk by 0.62 points or 0.02% to 3,223.62, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI lower by 6.22 points or 0.41% to 1,493.16.

On the flip side, Nikkei 225 up by 633.28 points or 2.42% to 26,771.96 and Straight times added 14.19 points or 0.43% to 3,294.70.
