Japanese stock market is trading sharply higher in early deals on Monday, in a thin holiday trade as most of the indices are closed for Lunar New Year holiday. Japan’s Nikkei advanced in the session posting its highest levels in a month. Nikkei extended gains from previous week as the Bank of Japan held on to its ultra-dovish interest rates despite pressure from soaring inflation rates. Bargain hunting after recent sell off in stocks supported the positive trend. Moreover, optimism over Chinese economy rebound after its reopening also lifted the sentiments. Stock markets of Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, China and Malaysia are closed.

Nikkei 225 up by 349.64 points or 1.32% to 26,903.17.
