Gold futures finished slightly higher on Monday, kindled by the dollar slide making it cheaper for third currency holders. However, gains remained trimmed on caution ahead to the release of US data and on ambiguity over Fed slowing interest rate hikes.
Gold futures for February eked higher by $0.40 or 0.02% to settle at $ 1928.60 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold rose by 0.05% or $0.93 to $ 1,931.97 per ounce.
