Asian markets settled mostly higher on Wednesday

25 Jan 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Wednesday, despite thin trading volumes as markets in Taiwan, China and Hong Kong were remained closed for the Lunar New Year celebrations. Sentiments improved further, backed by easing recession fears and expectations of a less aggressive interest rate hikes from the US Federal Reserve. Although, a slew of disappointing US earnings reports and hotter-than-expected inflation data in Australia, capped further gains in Asian market equities.
