GGCL to merge its distribution arm with Gujarat Gas Corporation

Gujarat Gas Company (GGCL) is likely to merge its city gas distribution entity - Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) with Gujarat Gas Corporation. This initiative will help GSPC to be an India's largest city gas distribution company and will allow it to transfer the loans it took to acquire GGCL on its books. The decision will be implemented only after the completion of open offer.

Gujarat Gas, a 65.12 per cent subsidiary of BG Asia, is India’s largest private sector natural gas distribution company in terms of sales volumes, with operations in Gujarat. The company distributes natural gas to domestic, commercial and industrial consumers, and compressed natural gas as automobile fuel, in the cities of Surat, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, and surrounding areas.
