State-owned National Aluminum Company (NALCO) has hiked prices of all its products by Rs 5,000 per tonne on February 16, 2013, after aluminum gained on the London Metal Exchange (LME). With the latest revision, the basic price of standard aluminium ingots now stand increased to Rs 144,700 per tonne.
Nalco, which is India's third-largest producer of aluminium, revises product prices from time to time to mirror London Metal Exchange prices. It last raised aluminium prices across all products by Rs 4,500 on December 01, 2012.
The company posted over 2-fold rise its net profit at Rs 118.94 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 51.22 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 14.49% at Rs 1805.50 crore for quarter as compared to Rs 1577.00 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
