Asian markets settled mostly lower on Thursday, tracking fall in Wall Street overnight after comments from a slew of Federal Reserve officials suggested that US interest rates might need to be higher for longer to bring down inflation. However, Chinese and Hong Kong markets gained amid persistent expectations that the world’s second-largest economy will recover this year. Chinese central bank PBoC injected fresh liquidity into the economy this week to shore up growth.
