Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar on Friday, tracking negative trend in domestic equities and sustained foreign fund outflows from the capital market. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital markets on Thursday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 144.73 crore, exchange data showed. Moreover, firm American currency and elevated crude oil prices in the overseas markets also dented rupee sentiments.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 82.57, weaker by 6 paise from its previous close of 82.51 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 82.6250 and 82.55 respectively.
