Asian markets end mostly lower on Friday

10 Feb 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly lower on Friday tracking fall in Wall Street overnight after hawkish comments by some US Federal Reserve officials, while an inversion of the Treasury bond yield curve in United States also fuelled recession fears. Chinese and Hong Kong shares declined, in spite of lower-than-expected Chinese inflation data. Data showed that China's consumer price inflation rose to 2.1 percent in January from 1.8 percent in December. Although, Japanese shares gained on some strong earnings reports, despite anxiety ahead of the Bank of Japan Governor’s nominations.
