Gold futures settled tad lower on Friday, pressured by the strength in dollar against its peers and dulled safe haven appeal of the bullion followed by upbeat January US economic Data. The yellow metal for the most active contract dipped for the third straight session by falling 1.3% for the week. However, some loss in the session was capped by the intensified chances of Federal Reserve being hawkish to handle the untamed inflation.
Gold futures for April down by $1.60 or 0.10% to settle at $1850.20 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold up by 0.33% or $ 6.00 to $ 1,842.36 per ounce.
