The Lok Sabha (LS) Secretariat has allotted the Shiv Sena office in Parliament House to the Eknath Shinde-led faction after the Election Commission's decision to recognise the group as the real Shiv Sena.

Responding to a letter written by Shinde faction’s floor leader Rahul Shewalae, the LS Secretariat said the designated room for the Sena office in the Parliament building has been allotted to the party. A letter from deputy secretary in the LS secretariat to Shewale stated that Room No 128 in Parliament House has been allotted to the Shiv Sena party.

The EC had on last week recognised the Shinde faction as the original Shiv Sena, and allowed to use the ‘bow and arrow’ symbol in elections. The Shinde faction earlier in the day demanded that the party office be handed over to the faction after the EC recognised the them as the real Shiv Sena. 13 out of the Sena’s 19 MPs in the Lok Sabha are with Shinde. While, Former CM Uddhav Thackray, who leads the rival camp, accused the EC of working at the behest of the BJP at the Centre and moved the Supreme Court challenging the poll panel’s ruling.
