Gold futures traded higher in early deals on Monday, kindled by the weakness in dollar and on safe haven appeal with the uncertainties over global economic health amid rising interest rates and soaring inflation. The yellow metal for the most active contract had gained 2% for the week, registering first weekly gain after four consecutive weeks of decline.
Gold futures for April added by $6.70 or 0.36% to $1861.30 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. However, spot gold slipped by 0.09% or $1.72 to $1,854.76 per ounce.
