Gold futures finished slightly lower on Wednesday ahead of US jobs data. The yellow metal extended previous sessional weakness followed by hawkish comments from Federal Chairman Jerome Powell at his testimony to the Senate Banking Committee. However, some loss remained trimmed as dollar softened against its peers.
Gold futures for April dipped by $1.40 or 0.1% to $1818.60 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold slipped by 0.04% or $0.69 to $1,813.11 per ounce.
