Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar on Wednesday due to firm American currency at overseas markets. Moreover, firm crude oil prices also weighed on rupee’s sentiments. However, some losses were capped by data showing that Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) turned net buyers in the capital market on Tuesday as they bought shares worth Rs 1,531.13 crore on Tuesday.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 82.32, weaker by 16 paise from its previous close of 82.16 on Tuesday. The currency touched a high and low of 82.37 and 82.16 respectively.
