Pipavav Defence delivers two Offshore Supply Vessels to ONGC

Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering Company has successfully constructed and delivered two Offshore Supply Vessels / Offshore Support Vessels (‘OSV’) to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (‘ONGC’) during the week ended March 2, 2013.

During the current quarter ending March 31, 2013, the Company till now has delivered three vessels; viz. one no. of 74,500 DWT Panamax Bulk Carrier, the largest vessel of its class built in India on January 21, 2013 and aforesaid two nos. of OSVs.

OSV - K. D. Malaviya -The first indigenously built OSV viz. ‘K. D. Malaviya’ is also equipped with Fire Fighting class-l system. The same is named after the first Chairman of ONGC K. D. Malaviya. The same was delivered to ONGC on March 2, 2013.  

OSV - P. R. Nayak- The second indigenously built OSV is also equipped with Fire Fighting class-l system viz. ‘P. R. Nayak’ is named after the ex-Chairman of ONGC P. R. Nayak. The same was delivered to ONGC on February 28, 2013.

Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering Company is engaged in defence, offshore, marine and engineering sectors. The company has two units, one special economic zone (SEZ) unit spread over around 95 hectares of land and another export oriented unit (EOU) spread over around 103.92 hectares of land.
