Asian markets settle mostly higher on Thursday

Asian markets settled mostly higher on Thursday, tracking strong move of Wall Street shares overnight following easing turmoil in the global financial market. Chinese and Hong Kong shares gained ahead of an expected meeting between Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen and US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Meanwhile, investors are awaiting Chinese official purchasing managers' index (PMI) for March, due on Friday. However, escalating tensions between China and the United States limited further gains in Asian equities.
