Asian markets trade mixed in early deals on Wednesday

Most of the Asian markets were trading mixed in early deals on Wednesday tracking fall on Wall Street overnight amid an uncertain global economic outlook, while hopes of less aggressive tightening by the Federal Reserve after weaker-than-expected US economic reports supported Asian market sentiments. Meanwhile, investors are awaiting the release of the US Labour Department's monthly jobs report on Friday. Japanese shares declined, despite data showing that Japan's services sector activity grew at the fastest pace in over nine years in March with a services PMI score of 55. While, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong markets are closed for the Qingming Festival holiday.

Straight times added 15.32 points or 0.46% to 3,326.44, KOSPI rose by 15.11 points or 0.61% to 2,495.62, and Jakarta Composite gained by 3.32 points or 0.05% to 6,836.50. On the flip side, Nikkei 225 dipped by 461.43 points or 1.63% to 27,825.99, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI down by 3.09 points or 0.22% to 1,426.52.
