Idea Cellular launches dual-SIM Android smartphone for Rs 5,390

Idea Cellular has extended its services in the smartphone market by launching the Zeal, a dual-SIM smartphone running on Android. The Zeal is coming with a 3.5-inch display with a 320x480 pixel resolution for Rs 5,390. The smartphone comes with 3.5-inch touch screen that has a resolution of 320X480 pixels. For camera, there is a 3-megapixel auto-focus rear shooter with digital zoom. It runs on the older Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS. The Zeal also has 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM with expandable storage up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. It runs on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

The Zeal also supports Wi-Fi, A-GPS, MP3 Player, Bluetooth, and built-in social media apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, unlimited SMS/MMS and phone directory, and pre-loaded apps such as Google, YouTube and Idea TV.

Recently, the India’s fourth-biggest cellular carrier added 2.45 million mobile subscribers in January, 2013. Following the said addition, the company’s total subscriber count stood at 116.40 million with a market share of 17.70%.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level; it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
