Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Wednesday

Most of the Asian markets traded lower in early deals on Wednesday, as the market sentiments dampened on cautious global economic and monetary policy outlook. Moreover, uneven recovery trends in Chinese economic data despite its GDP rise, accelerated concerns in the market. Additionally, investments also got saddled after the upbeat US earnings updates spooked fears of continued hawkish stance by Federal Reserve. Japan’s Nikkei retreated mirroring negative Wall Street overnight and as the Japanese manufacturing figures dipped for the fourth straight month in April. Negative global growth dimmed prospects for an export-led recovery. Stock market of Indonesia is closed for Eid-al- Fitr.

Nikkei 225 down 84.08 points or 0.29% to 28,574.75, Hang Seng slipped by 100.77 points or 0.49% to 20,549.74, Taiwan diminished by 72.44 points or 0.46% to 15,797.00, Shanghai declined by 7.28 points or 0.21% to 3,386.05 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI narrowed by 5.72 points or 0.40% to 1,426.64.

On the flip side, Straight times up by 5.79 points or 0.17% to 3,315.35, KOSPI rose by 10.68 points or 0.42% to 2,581.77.
