Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Thursday

Most of the Asian markets traded lower in early deals on Thursday, as the market sentiment dampened with the woes over inflation, intensified global economic uncertainties and on prospects of continued hawkish Central Banks. China’s Shanghai also retreated in tandem with the negative global indices overnight. Bucking the trend, Japan’s Nikkei advanced from earlier losses as the participants counted on surge in exports more than expected in March. Stock market of Indonesia is closed for Eid al-Fitr.

Straight times down by 7.89 points or 0.24% to 3,316.16, KOSPI rose by 11.68 points or 0.45% to 2,563.40, Taiwan diminished by 15.84 points or 0.10% to 15,754.63, Shanghai declined by 23.23 points or 0.69% to 3,346.90, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI narrowed by 5.01 points or 0.35% to 1,420.06.

On the flip side, Nikkei 225 up 66.23 points or 0.23% to 28,672.99, and Hang Seng rose by 39.54 points or 0.19% to 20,407.30.
