Karnataka Assembly elections: Amit Shah holds roadshow in Gundlupete

Ahead of the Assembly election in Karnataka, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today held a massive roadshow in the state’s Chamarajanagar district. 

Thousands of party workers participated in the roadshow by waving the BJP flags. The roadshow began from the new bus stand in Gundlupet. The 1.5-km long roadshow took more than 45 minutes to cover the stretch. Amit Shah was accompanied by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and BJP Gundlupet candidate C S Niranjan Kumar. While addressing the crowd, Amit Shah said, BJP will win all the four assembly seats in Chamarajanagar and will come to power in the state again.

BJP president JP Nadda is also scheduled to take part in a separate rally in the southern part of the state today. The party's mega election campaign is likely to get a boost with Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi visiting the State on April 29. PM will also visit the poll-bound State on May 3. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address four election rallies on April 26 and 29 and on May 5 and 7. Union Minister Smriti Irani will address eight rallies between April 25 and May 6. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will also continue his two-day visit to a poll-bound state, where he is scheduled to hold a public meeting in Hangal in the state’s Haveri district today.

With the Karnataka Assembly elections around the corner, major political parties in the state, including the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (Secular), have started ramping up their campaign. The Karnataka assembly elections will be held in a single phase on May 10 and counting of votes scheduled on May 13.
