Asian markets settled mostly higher on Tuesday, despite worries surrounding the US banking system and ahead of this week's interest rate decisions by the US Federal Reserve and ECB. Hong Kong shares gained as HSBC soared after reporting a tripling in quarterly profit and investors assessed mixed Chinese data released over the weekend. Meanwhile, Chinese markets were closed for the Labour Day holiday.
