Asian markets settle lower on Wednesday

03 May 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled lower on Wednesday, tracking Wall Street’s overnight fall with caution ahead of decision on interest rates by the US Federal Reserve due later in the day. The US Federal Reserve is widely expected to raise its benchmark lending rate by 25 basis points to tamp down inflation, while aiming to prevent fresh banking concerns from spreading. Meanwhile, markets in China and Japan were closed for a holiday.
