26 May 2023 Evaluate

Gold futures finished lower for fourth straight session on Thursday, registering lowest finish in nine weeks, pressured by the risk appetite in the market followed by better-than-expected economic data, and on bets of another rate hike by the Federal Reserve. Moreover, Fitch Ratings' decision to put the US' AAA credit rating on notice also fuelled the downward trend.

Gold futures for June down by $ 20.90 or 1.1% to settle at $ 1943.70 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold added by $7.02 or 0.36% to $ 1,948.43 per ounce.
