Rupee strengthens against US dollar on Friday

Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar on Friday with expectations that the US Federal Reserve will hold interest rates next week. Moreover, falling crude oil prices and foreign fund inflows into capital markets also supported domestic currency. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the capital markets on Thursday as they bought shares worth Rs 212.40 crore, exchange data showed. 

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 82.43, stronger by 8 paise from its previous close of 82.51 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 82.49 and 82.4250 respectively.
