Asian markets end mostly higher on Tuesday

13 Jun 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly higher on Tuesday tracking Wall Street’s overnight gains ahead the release of US CPI data and the Federal Reserve's highly anticipated policy decision scheduled this week. Amid signs of cooling inflation, the US central bank is expected to pause its rate hike campaign for the first time in 15 months. Japanese shares jumped on hopes that the Japanese central bank will stick to its dovish stance on Friday. Chinese shares gained marginally as the country's central bank cut short-term borrowing costs for the first time in 10 months to boost growth, while investors are eagerly awaiting slew of Chinese data due later in the week. Moreover, expectations of more Chinese stimulus measures also supported market sentiments.
