Asian markets settle mostly higher on Friday

16 Jun 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Friday tracking Wall Street gains overnight, despite the US Federal Reserve’s warning that it could raise interest rates two more times this year to battle against inflation. Rising bets of more economic stimulus measures from China also supported market sentiments. Japanese shares gained after the Japanese central bank BoJ maintained its ultra-easy monetary policy and signalled no change to its quantitative easing and yield curve control policies.
