Speciality Restaurants to enter into quick service restaurants

21 Mar 2013 Evaluate

Speciality Restaurants is planning to foray into the quick service restaurant (QSR) format, one that serves fast food or takeaways at a lower cost. It is looking for acquiring brands valued between Rs 100 crore and Rs 150 crore or more.

The firm, which owns Mainland China and Oh! Calcutta chain of restaurants, is in discussions with some brands and there might be an acquisition in the near future. It is also keen on expanding its business model to verticals other than the established ‘wine and dine’ category.

Speciality Restaurants focuses on providing the guests an affordable fine dining experience with quality food and service in a modern ambience. The company’s restaurants consist of different restaurant concepts and are located across India, particularly in the western region. Its flagship brand is Mainland China which serves Chinese cuisine in a standalone fine dining setting.
