Bharti Airtel rings loud on launching 4G LTE services in Punjab

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs 291.20, up by 10.05 points or 3.57% from its previous closing of Rs 281.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 286.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 292.35 and Rs 283.60 respectively. So far 163049 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 370.40 on 25-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 238.50 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 317.80 and Rs 275.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 110546.10 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.46% and 6.04% respectively.

After launching fourth generation (4G) long term evolution (LTE) services in Chandigarh, Bharti Airtel has launched the same in Mohali and Panchkula, in Punjab. The company already offers 4G services in Kolkata, Bangalore and Pune. It is now readying to launch the services in the remaining licence areas.

4G mobile Internet technology provides download speeds of around 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) on the move and it can go up to 1 Gigabits per second (Gbps) at a fixed location.

The company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa added 2.43 million users in February, 2013, increasing its total customer base to 186.62 million with a market share of 28.47%.
