Asian markets ended mostly higher on Wednesday tracking Wall Street’s overnight gains on the back of positive US economic data, while investors were awaiting US Fed Chair Jerome Powell's speech at a forum in Portugal due later in the day that could offer clues on future interest rate hikes. Japanese shares gained as a weaker yen boosted investors' confidence. However, Chinese shares ended marginally lower following weak industrial profits data for May. Meanwhile, investors fretted over news that the United States mulling new restrictions on AI chip exports to China.
