Congress leaders discuss party's strategy for Chhattisgarh assembly polls

Congress members from Chhattisgarh and top leaders of the party today chaired a meeting to discuss the strategy and poll preparedness for upcoming elections in the state.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Rahul Gandhi, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, besides the party's in-charge for the state Kumari Selja, general secretary, organisation, K C Venugopal, party's state unit chief Mohan Markam and ministers, including T S Singh Deo, were attended the meeting at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi. During the meeting discussions were held on the party’s strategy going forward. 

Kharge said party members will work together to keep bringing change in the lives of the people of Chhattisgarh. He said that the people of Chhattisgarh and their unwavering faith in the Congress party will continue to propel the continuous stream of development. ‘Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh' is not just a slogan for us, it is a goal for the state's progress and social justice’ he added. Chhattisgarh CM said that the party was ready for assembly polls and the meeting discussed the changes in the lives of people following the 'Nava Chhattisgarh' model initiated by theCongress government in the state. The meeting over Chhattisgarh comes a day after the party held a similar meeting over Telangana on Tuesday. Following their recent victory in Karnataka, the party has shifted its focus to the forthcoming assembly elections and the crucial 2024 polls.
