Asian markets settled mostly lower on Thursday after the US Federal Reserve's June meeting minutes showed most policymakers expect two more interest-rate hikes in 2023 to cool off inflation, while lingering US-China tensions also kept investors nervous. Japanese shares dropped followed by overnight fall in Wall Street shares. Moreover, Chinese shares declined ahead of US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's visit to China. Hong Kong shares slumped on heavy selling of Chinese banking shares.
