Asian markets settle mostly higher on Friday

14 Jul 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Friday amid signs of easing inflation in the United States with expectations that the Federal Reserve’s monetary tightening cycle is nearing an end. Moreover, Wall Street’s overnight gains and hopes of more stimulus measures for China's property sector also supporting market sentiments. Chinese shares ended almost flat with positive momentum as investors turned their focus on China's GDP data due next week. However, Japanese shares declined marginally as the yen rallied for a seventh day amid talks that the Bank of Japan (BOJ) would tweak its monetary policy later this month.
