Asian markets end mostly lower on Wednesday

26 Jul 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly lower on Wednesday ahead of another interest rate hike from the US Federal Reserve later in the day. The benchmark rate is expected to be lifted by a quarter point to a range between 5.25% and 5.5%. Meanwhile, the European Central Bank’s and the Bank of Japan’s interest rate decisions also kept the sentiments under pressure. South Korean shares dropped amid heavy sell-off by foreign investors. Chinese shares declined as investors awaited details of an economic stimulus measures package to support the country's struggling economy.
