Sarda Energy & Minerals’ wholly owned subsidiary - Sarda Metals & Alloys (SMAL), has commenced commercial operations of power plant and has declared March 02, 2013 as the commercial operation date for the 80 MW Captive Power Plant located near Vishakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The board of SMAL at its meeting held on March 18, 2013 has taken the note of it.
Besides, the Ferro Alloys Plant of SMAL is also ready. However at present, on economic considerations, total power generated is being sold through grid.
Sarda Energy & Minerals is one of the lowest cost producers of steel (sponge iron, billets, ingots, TMT bars) and one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of ferro alloys in India.
