Asian markets settled mostly higher on Monday as disappointing Chinese data fuelled hopes of more policy stimulus measures in China. China's manufacturing activity for July remained in contraction territory for the fourth straight month. Japanese shares led regional gains tracking Wall Street’s gain last Friday, while the yen extended fall on the back of Bank of Japan's intervention in the bond market to influence rates.
