Asian markets settled mixed on Tuesday with caution ahead of corporate earnings and key economic data from the United States in the coming days for additional clues on the interest rate outlook. China’s factory activity remained in contraction territory for a fourth straight month, according to the Caixin survey compiled by S&P Global. Hong Kong shares dropped in line with fresh concerns about the health of the property sector. However, Japanese shares gained by the yen's depreciation against the US dollar following Bank of Japan's decision last week to tweak its yield control curve policy, while reports showed that unemployment rate fell for the first time in two months in June.
