Asian markets settled mixed on Friday tracking overnight fall in Wall Street shares due to caution ahead of the release of US jobs data that could influence US Federal Reserve's interest rate hike path. Meanwhile, the Bank of England raised interest rates to a new 15-year high, warning that its fight against inflation might require tighter borrowing conditions for an extended period. A measure of US service sector activity slowed in July while US jobless claims increased slightly last week but layoffs dropped to an 11-month low in July, separate reports showed. Chinese shares gained after the PBoC governor pledged more financial resources to support private enterprises and promote the sound development of the real estate sector.
