Asian markets settled mostly lower on Tuesday on caution ahead of key inflation readings from the world's largest economies due this week, that could influence the US Federal Reserve's plans for possible interest rate hikes. Chinese and Hong Kong shares declined after China’s disappointing trade data. China's exports fell 14.5% in July year-on-year, while imports contracted 12.4%. However, Japanese shares rose followed by Wall Street gains overnight, although wage growth and household spending data missing expectations.
