Just in: Retail inflation surges to 7.44% in July vs 4.87% in June

The country’s retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased to 7.44 per cent in the month of July 2023 as compared to 4.87 per cent in June 2023. The consumer food price index (CFPI) jumped to 11.51 per cent in July from 4.55 per cent in June. Rural inflation stood at 7.63 per cent while urban inflation stood at 7.20 per cent in July 2023.
