Asian markets settled mostly lower on Thursday tracking Wall Street’s overnight fall after Fed's July meeting minutes showed some officials still saw the need for more interest rates to curb stubborn inflation. Japanese shares dropped as speculation for the government's intervention to curb the yen's weakness dented investors' appetite for risk. Hong Kong shares ended flat on deepening property sector crisis. Meanwhile, mounting concerns about the Chinese economy also dampened sentiments. However, Chinese shares gained on hopes of more stimulus measures to boost economic growth.
