10 Apr 2013 Evaluate

Reliance Industries has reportedly placed a contract with German industrial gases company Linde AG for building several plants for generating and purifying gases in Jamnagar, India. As per the contract, Linde's engineering division will supply four large air separation units for the production of gaseous oxygen. RIL requires massive streams of oxygen for its proposed petroleum coke and coal gasification facilities.

Further, in order to treat the synthesis gas generated during this gasification process, Linde will also deliver two RECTISOL acid gas removal units. In addition, Linde will build two additional air separation units to supply high-purity oxygen to Reliance's ethylene glycol facilities in Jamnagar.
